This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage Pointspoken uses, why, and how to change your choice. It belongs with our privacy policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work, such as the one that keeps you signed in. Others help a business understand whether its advertising works. Browser storage (“local storage”) does a similar job and is covered here too.
The cookies we use
| Name | Type | What it does | Lasts | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ss_session | Essential | Keeps you signed in after you enter your email code. Without it you would have to sign in on every page. | 30 days | Pointspoken |
| ss_consent (browser storage) | Essential | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, so we do not ask again. | Until you clear it | Pointspoken |
| ss_onboarding_v1, ss_terms_accepted (browser storage) | Functional | Hold your answers to the welcome questions and your acceptance of the terms until your account is created. | Until sign-up completes | Pointspoken |
| ss_campaign (session storage) | Functional | Remembers which campaign or ad brought you here (for example the utm tags in the link) so we can tell which channels work. No identifier. | This browser session | Pointspoken |
| ss_ref | Functional | Set only if you arrive through a partner's link. Remembers which partner referred you so they can be credited if you create an account. Holds the partner's code, nothing about you. | This browser session; 60 days if you choose Accept all | Pointspoken |
| ss_anon (browser storage) | Analytics | A random visitor id for our own product analytics, so steps before sign-up can be counted as one visit. Created only after you choose Accept all. | Until you clear it | Pointspoken |
| _gcl_au | Advertising | Google Ads conversion linker: lets Google attribute a sign-up to an ad that was clicked earlier. | 90 days | |
| _gcl_aw, _gcl_gs | Advertising | Set only after you arrive from a Google ad; store the ad click identifier used to measure that ad. | 90 days | |
| IDE, test_cookie (doubleclick.net) | Advertising | Google's own cookies, set on Google's domain, used to measure and limit ad delivery. | Up to 13 months | |
| Paddle checkout cookies | Essential (payments) | Set by Paddle inside its checkout to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. Only present when you open checkout. | Session to 1 year | Paddle |
| _fbp, _fbc | Advertising | Meta Pixel: lets Meta attribute a sign-up, trial or first payment to an ad shown on Facebook or Instagram. Our server reads these at checkout for the same purpose. Off until you choose Accept all. | 90 days | Meta |
Our product analytics are first-party and pseudonymous, and nothing you record, no transcript and no feedback is ever shared with an advertising cookie.
Essential and non-essential
- Essential cookies are always on because the service cannot work without them. They do not track you across other sites.
- Advertising cookies are non-essential. In the European Union, the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland they stay off unless you choose “Accept all”. Elsewhere they are on by default and you can turn them off at any time.
Changing your choice
